Best No-Filter AI Chat Apps (2026): Limits & Privacy

The best no-filter AI chat app depends on which trade-off you will accept. Pick Kindroid for the strongest published privacy posture, Janitor AI with a chosen model for model control, SpicyChat or CrushOn for large adult-roleplay libraries, and SillyTavern with a local model for maximum technical control.

There is no legitimate hosted “AI without restrictions.” The phrase usually means fewer roleplay refusals than Character.AI, not zero rules. Every hosted service still limits illegal content, minors, payments, account abuse and some forms of media. The expensive mistake is choosing on the word uncensored while ignoring the first paywall and the privacy policy.

This is a research-based comparison, not a claim that we personally ran explicit prompts through every service. Product, billing and privacy sources were checked on August 28, 2026.

What “no filter” actually means

Hosted services can also moderate one surface but not another. Kindroid describes its chat AI as neutrally aligned and unfiltered, while noting app-store limits for NSFW media generation and hard prohibitions around imminent harm and CSAM. Candy markets adult companionship but still says moderation can alter requests and human reviewers may inspect flagged content. “No filter” is a buyer shortcut, not a technical specification.

Prices and limits move quickly. Where an official page does not publish a stable price, this guide says “live checkout” instead of laundering an old screenshot into a fake current fact.

1. Kindroid: best hosted balance

Kindroid is the strongest option when you want permissive private text chat without giving up memory, model quality and a clear support trail. Its official FAQ calls the chat AI “neutrally aligned, unfiltered” while preserving hard safety limits. Its current subscription docs show unlimited Lite-model messages for free users, a three-day premium trial, and standard web pricing of $13.99/month versus $15.99/month through app stores.

The first meaningful paywall is not basic chat; it is the flagship models, larger context, more companions, group chat, voice/video features and higher media allowances. Ultra and MAX are separate monthly add-ons for users who want much larger memory and context, so a “$13.99 app” can become much more expensive if extreme context is the feature you are chasing.

Privacy is the differentiator. Kindroid says chat history, memories, backstory, audio URLs and selfie prompts are encrypted in its databases and in transit, and that staff see encrypted database content. That is a stronger, more specific promise than the adult-library competitors publish.

2. Janitor AI: best model control

Janitor AI is only as permissive, private and expensive as the route behind it. The free tier includes standard chat models and roughly 9,000 tokens of context. Janitor+ adds five times more context, priority and monthly swipes with its best models.

You have three model routes:

1. JLLM/JLLM+: easiest and native to Janitor.
2. janitor+ Router: web-only subscriber feature with supported third-party models, visible context/rates and no external API-key setup. It has a separate per-token wallet.
3. External API or proxy: maximum provider choice, but you manage the endpoint, key, balance and privacy chain.

The first cost limiter is usually model usage. Direct DeepSeek is prepaid and token-metered; Router requires Janitor+ plus wallet credits; OpenRouter free model routes have changing daily and provider limits. Our current DeepSeek on Janitor setup separates those routes and uses the current V4 model names.

3. SpicyChat: large library, weak privacy language

SpicyChat is a ready-to-use adult-roleplay service across web and app, with age verification and a free-account entry point. It is more convenient than managing Janitor endpoints or local models, which is why it remains a popular Character.AI exit route.

The privacy trade-off is too important to bury. SpicyChat’s privacy policy says users can request deletion, but its terms grant broad, perpetual rights over submitted chats and generations. The same terms say operators may read messages and tell users not to treat the service as confidential electronic communication. That is not the posture to choose for intimate real-world details.

Pricing and quotas are shown through the live registration and subscription flow and can change. Website card subscriptions are managed through the account portal; bank, Boosty, crypto and app-store routes have different activation and refund mechanics. Check the payment route before buying, not after the bill goes spicy.

4. CrushOn AI: library breadth with training risk

CrushOn combines community characters, multiple models, bonus-message credits, Diamonds and paid chat packages. Its official FAQ says each AI reply costs two message credits, Diamonds can redeem one-to-one bonus messages, and an activated Chat Package is a non-refundable digital purchase. Subscription cancellation depends on Apple, Google or the original direct-payment platform.

The biggest caution is privacy. CrushOn’s privacy policy says user content from character chats may be used to train AI models. Its FAQ also says messages older than 24 hours cannot be individually deleted, while full account deletion can be blocked until an active subscription is resolved.

That does not automatically make CrushOn unusable. It makes it a poor place for names, addresses, workplace details, health information or anything you would not want in a training or moderation workflow. Use fictional context, keep payment receipts and understand the deletion path first.

5. Candy AI: visual-first, token-metered and not private by default

Candy AI is the clearest visual-first option in this shortlist. Its terms say free users can generally send five messages. A subscription unlocks unlimited text messaging and generally includes about 100 tokens per month for extended features such as images and voice notes. The subscription price is disclosed at checkout and tokens expire when paid access ends.

That means the first paywall is brutally clear: five messages. The second paywall is media. “Unlimited chat” does not mean unlimited images, video or voice.

Candy’s privacy notice says interactions may be aggregated, anonymized or de-identified for model training and may receive human review for dataset preparation and quality assurance. It also says third-party LLM providers or hosters may receive message content. Refund requests generally have a 24-hour window and can be denied after more than 20 tokens are used; only card purchases qualify under that standard route.

6. SillyTavern plus a local model: maximum control, maximum setup

SillyTavern is an open-source local frontend, not a model or hosted companion service. It becomes the most private and permissive route only when the model also runs locally. Connect it to a cloud API and the provider again receives the prompt and chat context.

The first paywall may be hardware, electricity or a hosted-model bill. The first usability wall is setup: models, context settings, character cards, backups and updates are your responsibility. It is a strong option for technically comfortable users and a bad recommendation for someone who wants a polished account in five minutes.

Why Character.AI is not on the shortlist

Character.AI has a permanent platform filter. Its paid C.AI+ plan lists better memory, no slow mode, ad-free chat, latest models and unlimited voice calls; it does not list a filter switch or adult-content tier.

If the filter is your only problem, compare alternatives. If you otherwise like Character.AI, read whether C.AI+ is worth it before paying for the wrong fix.

Choose by the first problem you refuse to accept

• Choose Kindroid if weak privacy is the deal-breaker.
• Choose Janitor AI if being locked to one hosted model is the deal-breaker.
• Choose SpicyChat if setup friction is the deal-breaker and you can keep personal data out of chats.
• Choose CrushOn if library breadth matters more than chat-training concerns.
• Choose Candy AI if images and voice matter more than unlimited media value.
• Choose SillyTavern locally if third-party hosting is the deal-breaker and you can manage the stack.
