AI Companion Cost Calculator: Real Monthly Cost & Credits
Looking for something else? See what each app’s free tier and paid plans include in the pricing index, or estimate Janitor AI and SillyTavern API costs with the proxy cost calculator.
Two quick checks before you pay for an AI companion app. The first turns any billing period, plus add-ons and top-ups, into a real monthly figure. The second shows what a credit pack really costs per message, image or minute at your usage. Both run in your browser.
Compare the full bill, not the monthly-equivalent headline
Enter the amount actually charged for one billing period. An annual offer is paid upfront; dividing by twelve does not turn it into a monthly subscription.
All inputs must use the same currency. Tax, conversion fees, price changes and unplanned top-ups are excluded unless included in your inputs. This calculation stays in your browser and is not submitted to us.
Download the dated source-and-calculation CSV. It distinguishes source-listed prices, arithmetic and unknown checkout amounts.
What does one message or image really cost in credits?
Enter a credit pack from your checkout and how many credits one action uses. Apps call these credits, tokens, coins, gems or something similar.
Use one currency throughout. Bonus credits, expiry dates, credits included with a subscription and tax are excluded unless you include them. This calculation stays in your browser and is not submitted to us.
Where to find the numbers
- Your checkout screen is the final word on price, tax, billing period and renewal.
- The AI companion pricing index lists each app's advertised price and main cost drivers, with the official source and the date we checked it.
- Each app's review covers its plans, credits and cancellation rules. Start from all reviews.
A worked example
Say a pack costs 9.99 for 1,000 credits and one image uses 10 credits. Each image then costs about 0.10. At five images a day, that is about 15.00 every 30 days, on top of any subscription. These are illustrative numbers, not any app's price.
Credits are why cheap plans get expensive. How token pricing works explains the patterns, and what companion subscriptions really cost walks through dated examples.
Frequently asked questions
Is this calculator a price quote for a specific app?
No. It does arithmetic on the amounts you enter from your own checkout or an app’s official price page. It does not know any app’s current price, tax or regional offer.
Does the calculator send my numbers anywhere?
No. Both calculators run in your browser. Nothing you type is submitted to Companion Scout or anyone else.
Why work out the cost per message or image?
Credit packs hide the unit price. Dividing the pack price by its credits, then multiplying by the credits one action uses, shows what each message, image or minute really costs and how fast a pack runs out at your usage.
